News / Press Release

The NICMC (Nakayama International Center for Medical Cooperation), was established in 1988 to promote international awareness in medical education, research and technology.

We have been promoting exchange programs, strongly believing that experiencing oversea medical cultures is invariably beneficial to our students. Not only faculty members, but also students should have opportunities to be exposed to different views on medical related matters.

We have been exchanging students with the University of Hawaii and Amur State Medical Academy in Russia the longest, and also have made exchange program agreements with top medical schools in Korea, Thailand, Taiwan and Singapore. We also try to offer the best clinical clerkship program for foreign students from sister schools.

An international symposium is held every year when foreign students are visiting Osaka Medical College and there they make presentations on their medical education system and campus life back home. Our students, who have been on exchange programs that year, report back their experiences abroad, too.

It is a sincere pleasure for us to see exchange students grow to be medical doctors who are able to contribute to raising the health standard of the world.
